Site Attisholz

Riedholz

2023

Attisholz serves as a model for a modern, inspiring and sustainable living space. As an alternative to the city, countryside and agglomeration, Attisholz will be a beacon project for a new sustainable way of life. The site combines Swiss industrial history with a unique landscape and urban density.

The project plays a key role in a gentle and gradual transformation strategy that aims to consider and incorporate current social, ecological and cultural needs in a sustainable way. Wood is at the centre of our design. The project uses as little wood as possible to replace as much concrete as possible. This reduces the CO2 consumption of construction activity and minimises the weight of the new structures.

The two additional storeys – east and west – contain flats that are organised diagonally to the corners of the building. This allows for unique views. The three-storey “townhouses” are the “USP” of the project. They give the ensemble that certain something and create identity.
