High-Rise Buildings West
Spreitenbach
2018
Within the centre development in Spreitenbach, we won the competition for a high-rise project by replacing the two large towers envisaged in the structure plan by two double high-rise buildings with a connecting base on the first floor. This not only allows for a better integration into the existing local structure, but also promises less shadowing and a higher quality of living due to 70% corner apartments with emphasized views.
The plinth area is directly attached to the existing shopping centre and serves as a convenience cluster. In its form and function, it mediates the scale of the high-rise buildings with the surrounding neighbourhood. This allows the shopping centre to evolve into a year-round urban lifestyle centre with quality outdoor space. The “Shoppi” shopping centre in Spreitenbach, once a visionary expression of urban lifestyles and social developments, is to be revived as such. Opening up and connecting to the surrounding neighbourhoods as an urban hub.
The project “Doppelhochhaus West” is derived from the previous master plan for the centre development of Spreitenbach, which was devised by us in 2013.
