Laboratory FGCZ

Zurich

2020

In order to ensure cost-effective and rapid assembly and disassembly we proposed prefabricated facade elements. The expression of the facade results from the repetition and manipulation of a standardized wooden board. The board is cut and rotated by 90°. With these simple manipulations an atmospheric facade is created that can be perceived differently by movement and changing light conditions. The entrance area is part of the façade but stands out due to the canopy and the covered window areas. The wide canopy highlights the address of the building and offers an additional and generous meeting and communication space.
