Townhouse Basel at Holzbautag Biel 2026

As part of the focus session “Vertical Extensions, Additions and Infill”, Stefan Amann (HILDEBRAND) and Oliver Bopp (PIRMIN JUNG Schweiz) presented our joint project Townhouse Basel. The presentation focused on the potential of timber construction for the continued development and transformation of existing buildings.

Building with Timber – Adaptive, Hybrid, Forward-Looking

Holzbautag Biel 2026 focused on the question of how timber construction can be further developed in an adaptive, hybrid and forward-looking way. Timber offers a wide range of possibilities – from vertical extensions and additions to combinations with existing structural systems. Its light weight, flexibility and versatility make timber particularly well suited to building within existing structures.
Holzbautag Biel brings together professionals from planning, engineering, construction, research and client organisations, providing a platform for professional and academic exchange on the subject of timber construction.
