Architecture and Natural Stone Experts in Dialogue
The “Natural Stone Talks at the Quarry” bring together invited guests from the fields of architecture and landscape architecture with experts in natural stone. Each discussion explores different aspects of this natural building material: What makes building with natural stone so distinctive? Why are its physical and technical properties so highly valued? What potential does natural stone offer for creative design? And what added value does it bring to Switzerland economically?
Moderated by natural stone expert Jan Müller and set against the authentic backdrop of the quarry, architect Thomas Hildebrand and landscape architect Daniel Berg discussed the potential of this rediscovered building material within the context of contemporary architecture.
With the construction industry accounting for around 40% of global CO₂ emissions, the choice of climate-conscious building materials is becoming increasingly important. Natural stone offers a compelling combination of sustainability and technical performance. Its precision, durability and design versatility make it particularly relevant wherever high standards of craftsmanship, longevity and architectural quality are required.
