In spring 2023, Thomas Hildebrand, Celina Martinez-Cañavate, and Carla Ferrer (Iter) were invited to present their co-authored book Touch Wood: Material, Architecture, Future (Lars Müller Publishers, 2022) during a lunchtime talk at the renowned architecture firm Foster and Partners in London.

During this informal midday session, the authors introduced key themes from their book, which explores wood as a forward-looking building material. The presentation focused on the role of wood in driving both architectural and societal change towards more sustainable building practices. Attendees were given insights into selected projects and the broader potential of wood as a climate-conscious material for architecture.

Following the presentation, an engaging discussion unfolded with architects and planners from Foster and Partners on the use of natural materials in contemporary architectural design.
