Hauptsitz Maerki Baumann & Co.
Zurich
2024
The concept for the renovation of the Maerki Baumann & Co. AG bank building at Schanzengraben aims to seamlessly combine tradition and innovation—both in its exterior appearance and interior spaces. The architectural expression reflects the bank’s core values: independence, security, and transparency. The existing façade, characterized by its historicist style, is thoughtfully continued through the precisely designed rooftop extension. With a restrained yet high-quality architectural language, the new volume integrates harmoniously into the existing structure while enhancing the bank’s urban presence at this prominent location. Inside, the spatial organization has been restructured to meet contemporary needs: functional, open, and discreet. High-quality materials, precise detailing, and a carefully considered lighting concept create an atmosphere that conveys trust, stability, and openness—embodying the values at the heart of the institution.
